WRITING
- CURRENT FREELANCE: I write for the Daily Telegraph Online, Sky TV Online and write reviews and interviews for the young adult book blog Mostly Reading YA. I contribute movie news and reviews to film website Movies1.co.uk and am an Entertainment blogger doing interviews, reviews, news and features for The Huffington Post U.K. I am also doing video junkets for Sky Magazine Online and do international film junkets for Sony Pictures Television International. I blog for London Festival Fringe.
- ENTERTAINMENT WRITER: I have written interviews, features, news and reviews for amongst others Press Association, Empire, Hotdog, Total Film, Reveal, Nuts, Grazia, Us Weekly, The Sun, The Mirror and Sky Magazine.
- ONLINE JOURNALIST: For AOL, Press Association, Channel 5 (helped set up Holy Soap! portal), the BBC and Mail Online.
- LOS ANGELES BUREAU CHIEF: I set up and ran the Press Association Los Angeles bureau, providing all of PA’s showbiz copy from the West Coast including celeb interviews, red carpet events, festivals and real-life features. This also involved writing news stories, generating daily multimedia content for the website, as well as organizing all the forward planning, liveblogging the Oscars and covering the Sundance Film Festival.
- AUTHOR: My biography Robert Downey Jr.: The Fall And Rise Of The Comeback Kid came out through Portico Books in May 2010. I also co-wrote Television’s Strangest Moments, published by Robson in August 2005.
- TV PRODUCER:I have been an entertainment producer for Channel 4 and APTN and Los Angeles producer of Channel Five’s The Movie Chart Show and Exclusive! I have also worked as a development producer for Scream Films and Summer Films.
TEACHING
- 2010-present: Senior Lecturer in Journalism at London Metropolitan University. I teach a variety of journalism skills, including video and online journalism. I have convened modules and oversee the student website Holloway Express.
- 2008-present: Lecturer in Journalism at University Of Hertfordshire.
- I am currently studying for my PG Cert in Learning & Teaching in Higher Education.
